Australian Muslims and the Voice Referendum

Senator Fatima Payman.
Senator Payman will reflect on the rationale for the Voice to the Parliament from a Muslim community perspective in multicultural Australia.
CMSS Director, Professor Samina Yasmeen AM CitWA, will chair the session.
About Fatima Payman
Fatima Payman is a Senator for Western Australia. She is an Australian Muslim with cultural roots from Afghanistan. Her father arrived in Australia as a refugee and his experience working around the clock to provide for her, her mother and her siblings instilled in Fatima the values of hard work and perseverance.
Raised in the northern suburbs of Perth, Fatima put her hand up to represent all Western Australians, including First Nations people and people from cultural minority groups who remain unrecognised for their contributions.
