Ashura means Tenth.
Fasting on the 10th of Muharram (‘Ashura) is the best fast after Ramadan.
The Day of Ashura falls on the 10th day of Muharram. This is a hugely significant day for Muslims around the world as they commemorate Allah (SWT) freeing Prophet Musa (AS) and the Children of Israel from Pharaoh.
