The Daawah Association of Western Australia (DAWA) was founded in 1998 by Br. Sufyaan Khalifa along with a group of individuals who shared a passion and dedication for spreading the teachings of Islam. These initial gatherings marked the inception of the DAWA organisation, which officially opened its doors in 2001 and established the first Muslim Centre ever owned by Muslims in Western Australia at 45 Kent St Cannington. From this point forward, the DAWA embarked on a journey of tireless efforts to serve the community which continues to this day. Over the years, DAWA has become a prominent institution in our community, providing valuable services and resources to all who seek them.
TODAY:
Alhamdulillah, we are excited to announce the re-opening of your DAWA centre after a long break! We are back in business with a great vision and a strong team, ready to contribute towards the betterment of our community and the development of our beloved country Australia.
The new DAWA centre, located at 2194 Albany Hwy in Gosnells, offers excellent exposure to public transportation and is conveniently situated only a three-minute walk from Gosnells train station, five minutes’ walk from the main shopping centre, and two minutes’ walk from the Gosnells Knowledge Centre.
The DAWA centre will serve as a base and platform, dedicated to providing a wide range of services, including:
- Introducing Islam to non-Muslims
- Facilitating open dialogue between Muslims and Non-Muslims
- Supporting new Muslim converts/reverts
- Offering
leadership and development programs
for our youth
- Providing a meeting point for our Muslim elders
- Facilitating Muslim marriage services
- Offering a variety of lessons, forums, conferences and camps for the community.
We are committed to making a positive impact on our community by creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. Our experienced staff is committed to working with you to achieve your goals and aspirations.

Alhamdulillah! Brothers and sisters take note. This group, DAWA, when out of Cannington, was the place to be for da’awah in this city (if not the state), by Allah’s Permission. Insha’Allah, I make du’a for your success and longevity, and I, along with other brothers from ‘back in the day’ will be in contact shortly, insha’Alla Ta’ala. One note, the new address (Albany Hwy) is either not present on your new website, except for on a flyer, or it is VERY hard to find. Jazak’Allahu khairan wa salam, AA.

Oh yes, it should be added, you should include info on the fact you’re in close proximity to Masjid Ar-Rahman (however many minutes that is), or that it’s the same complex as Dr. Hassan. Did you know too that the Google View (or whatever it’s called) shows Federation Street and not a view of your building or even Albany Hwy. Worth reporting. Insha’Allah, when time permits, we will all be visiting. Wassalam wr wb, AA

Assalamu alaykum.
Brother Ma’en, Jazakallah Khayr for the ongoing service your are providing to the community by making your website an open platform for all Muslims in WA. Brother Abu Ameenah, JazakAllah khayr for your beautifully touching words. InshaAllah, we will revive those beautiful days with the great brothers from “back in the day”. The new DAWA centre in Gosnells is fully dedicated to spreading the message of Islam and, hopefully, to be the pioneering platform and base of Da’wah to Allah in WA.
In regards to the important remark made about the address, InshaAllah, a new website will be launched on the 1st of July with all the new details included. We will make sure to share the website link with all of you as soon as it’s available.
