I am excited to announce that our organisation Life Without Barriers has been successful in obtaining funding through WA Primary Health for a new program – Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Psychological Service. This program provides structured psychological treatment services for Individuals (and their families) from a CALD background with, or at risk of, mental disorders. The primary focus is on psychological treatment for mild-to-moderate mental health conditions with a secondary focus on short-term psychological interventions and assisting people with Severe Mental Illness to access appropriate services.
Life Without Barriers provides a diverse range of human services across the state. Our services work with refugees and asylum seekers, people with drug and alcohol issues, people who are experiencing mental health issues, people with disability, children and young people in the child protection system, we support families and people who are experiencing homelessness or escaping from domestic and /or family violence situations.
I understand that in some community’s mental and wellbeing is often taboo and I am seeking to work with you and other stakeholders to ensure that CALD communities receiving the support they need.
We recognise that to be successful in our work, we need to develop trusting and effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders. I would very much welcome the opportunity to speak with you about this exciting project. I am cognisant of the virtual world in which we are now working, So I am flexible in the method in which you would like to meet.
Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to meeting with you soon.
