As-Salaamu 'Alaykum everyone,
I have some good news and some 'not so bad' news.
Well the good news is that we've passed the $60 000 mark and still receiving a healthy flow of contributions... and some off-line contributions too. Please continue because at this rate we can easily reach the $650 000 target by the end of the year. This will allow us to pay cash for the property, or choose another more suitable block next to the church. So our options with a cash purchase certainly increases.
The 'not so bad' news is that our finance application with Amanah Finance (an Islamic Finance company in Melbourne) was rejected because we did not have a satisfactory credit history. But then again we've never purchased anything on credit which incurs interest.... duh... go figure 🙂
Anyway, this means that we are more than willing to partner with anyone who shares our vision and who can support us with their 'good' credit history and apply for the finance on our behalf. Obviously all checks and balances will be put into place to ensure that both parties are protected. Al-Hamdu Lillaah I have a local Muslim lawyer who is helping us with all legal work for the Masjid pro-bono.
So, here's your opportunity to become even more involved in a worthy project that is sure to win Allaah's good favour and a great, continuously accruing reward in the hereafter, in-Shaa' Allaah.

Build Your Centre
The Islamic Centre of WA has been serving the Perth Muslim community for over 20 years. In August 2014, the Perth Ummah Centre was established to operate as a second venue of the Islamic Centre WA. The purpose of this establishment, is to provide additional Islamic classes and community development programs particularly for the Muslims located in the southern suburbs of Perth WA.
Alhamdulillah the Perth Ummah Centre has been very well received by the community. Without this much appreciated community support and belief in the Centre's many benefits (especially to the sisters, converts and youth) it's ongoing growth would not be possible. For that we extend much thanks Allah SWT and to the community.

The medium-to-long-term goal of the two venues (Islamic Centre WA & Perth Ummah Centre) is to purchase a larger central venue and cease renting both properties. With such a purchase the Perth Muslim community can (InshaAllah) look forward to a better permanent venue inclusive of a place of worship with youth and community programs currently run by both Centres.
Therefore this group is to provide the community with updates on the progress of this expansion project and inshaAllah invite you to support and contribute towards it.
