It has to be good news for the Quranic Society's plans to build a big new school near Camden. I MET Mecca Laalaa in a Lebanese cafe in the Sydney suburb of Lakemba, where for $12, I received half a table of food. She was wearing a light green headscarf pinned at the throat and blue jeans. As Australia's first Muslim woman lifesaver, Mecca also wears that new Ossie Cossie — the burqini (basically, a wet suit with a hood). |
